Herkuleksesta kehittyy uniikki keskustakortteli, joka yhdistää monipuolisen yhteisöllisen asumisen, laajan valikoiman liikuntamahdollisuuksia, aktiiviset liiketilat ja vihreät, elvyttävät pihatilat. Kortteli muodostaa uuden kaupunkikuvallisen ja toiminnallisen yhteyden Aurajoen ympäristön ja taustalla kohoavaan Urheilupuiston väliin. Herkuleksen toiminnallinen konsepti kytkeytyy tiiviisti Urheilupuiston liikunnalliseen teemaan. Korttelin sijoittuu hybridirakennus, jossa on maanalainen pysäköintilaitos, monipuolisia liikuntatoimintoja sekä rivitaloasuntoja katolla. Liikuntahybridi toimii ainutlaatuisena ankkuritoimintona ja palvelee sekä korttelin asukkaita että kaupunkilaisia. Monipuoliset sisäliikuntatilat Urheilupuiston läheisyydessä täydentävät merkittävästi Turun keskustan liikuntapalveluverkkoa.</p>\n<p><br></p>"

Vallihaudat ja -saaret suojaavat Linnansaarta kuten muinoin. </p>\n<p><strong>Linnanniemi </strong>erotetaan satama-alueesta rakennuksilla ja rakenteilla; ne suojaavat ulkotiloja ja rakennuksia melulta. </p>\n<p><strong>Yhteisterminaali</strong> on sijoitettu kilpailuohjelmassa osoitettuun paikkaan, mutta liikenne terminaaliin ohjataan uutta<strong> ’Esplanadia’ </strong>pitkin. Suunnitelman lähtökohta on luoda Pihlajaniemestä lähiön sijaan rakennus- ja huoneistotyypeiltään monipuolista uutta kantakaupunkia. </p>\n<p>Pohjoisessa ja idässä korttelin eksteriööri on urbaani ja umpikorttelimainen, jota tukee eläväpintainen tiilimuuraus. Maantasosta muodostuu elävä luoteiskulman kivijalkaliiketiloineen ja koilliskulman työ- ja monitoimitiloineen. Lännessä ja etelässä avataan asuntoja ja korttelia eteläpuoliseen kanavamiljööseen, länsipuolen pohjois-etelä-suuntaiselle promenadille ja idässä itäpuoliseen ”taskupuistoon”. </p>\n<p>Korttelijulkisivut on jäsennetty pienempiin osiin, jotka poikkeavat toisistaan värin ja aukotusten sommittelun suhteen. Julkisivujen käsittely, materiaalivalinnat ja mittakaava muuttuvat asteittain pohjoisesta ja koilliskulmasta kohti etelää ja lounasta juurevasta urbaaniudesta visuaalisesti kevyemmäksi sekä pienimittakaavaisemmaksi: Pohjois- ja itäsivuilla julkisivujen päämateriaalina ovat eri sävyiset tiilet. Länsijulkisivu on rapattu vaaleaksi ja eteläjulkisivulla käytetään lämmintä puuta. Rakennusten leikkaantuvat päädyt verhoillaan metallilla. Voimakkaan vinot katot pellitetään, tasaisemmilla katoilla on viherkattoja. </p>\n<p>Erityyppiset talot tarjoavat erilaisia asumisen ratkaisuja; asuntovaihtoehtoja on omistusasumisesta tuettuun asumiseen ja asuntokokoja yksiöistä kaksikerroksisiin loft-tyyppisiin asuntoihin sekä asuntoihin, joihin liittyy maantasokerroksen työtila. Osalla asunnoista on oma sisäänkäynti suoraan kadulta. </p>\n<p>Korttelipihasta toteutetaan runsain istutuksin ja maanpinnan korkovaihteluin jäsennelty, aktiivista oleskelua ja yhteisöllistä toimintaa tukeva kokonaisuus. Yhteisöllisyyttä tukevat myös runsaat, koko korttelin käytössä olevat yhteistilat, kuten kaksi saunaa, joista toinen pihatasossa ja toinen ullakolla, vierasasunto, kuntosali, polkupyörien korjaustila, laaja monitoimitila, jota voidaan käyttää erilaisiin asukastapahtumiin ja yhteisenä työtilana sekä pesula- /oleskelutila. </p>\n<p>Korttelipiha avautuu kolmeen eri suuntaan: Pihan yhteiset toiminnot (leikki, liikunta ja oleskelu) on sijoitettu pihan keskelle. Maastonmuodot muodostavat suojavyöhykkeen yhteisen ja yksityisten pihojen välille. Ne muodostavat aurinkoisen oleskelurinteen ja leikkikummun. Ensimmäisen kerroksen asuntojen pihat avautuvat pihakannelle terassein, joita suojaavat korkeat perennaistutukset. </p>"

"fi": "<p>Vallaton taiteenkumous 2021 on villi ja vallaton, yleisölle saavutettava ja maksuton yksipäiväinen taidefestivaali, jonka tuottaa Turun vapaan kulttuurin kentän ammattilaisista koostuva verkosto.</p>\n<p>Vallaton on kulttuurifoorumi, ei viihdetapahtuma. Vallaton taiteenkumous on julkilausuma, tapahtumakokonaisuus, jossa marginaali valtaa sille kuuluvan tilan. Ohjelma on ammattimaista, kunnianhimoista ja monitaiteista: se herättelee, ravisuttaa, koskettaa, sytyttää. Yhteisöllisissä työpajoissa ihmiset kohtaavat taiteen lisäksi muita ihmisiä ja keskusteluissa synnytetään uutta ajattelua tieteen, taiteen ja talouden rajapinnoilla. Taidekontakteista syntyy kontakteja ihmisten välille ja osallisuutta taiteelliseen luovuuteen. Keskusteluohjelmaa tuotetaan yhteistyössä turkulaisen yrityskehittämö Bastu-verkoston kanssa, joka liittää yhteen akateemisen tutkimuksen ja yritystoiminnan. </p>\n<p>Keskikaupungille levittäytyvässä päiväohjelmassa nähdään muun muuassa pop up -esityksiä yllättävissä lokaatioissa, kuullaan kiinnostavia paneelikeskusteluja taide- ja kulttuurialasta sekä kutsutaan lapset mukaan taideviidakkoon. Päivä huipentuu iltaklubiin, joka on elämyksellinen, villi ja vallaton, monitaiteinen spektaakkeli – kuten verkosto itsessään. Se on yllätyksellinen cocktail esittävää ja osallistavaa taidetta. Miltä kuulostaa soittokilvoittelu, jossa vastakkain ovat jazz-trio ja acapella-kuoro? Tai karaoke, jota juontaa nukke? Verkoston jäsenet tuottavat ohjelmaa yhteistyössä. Ilta huipentuu klubiin, jossa kävijät voivat unohtua viidakkohengessä luodulle tanssilattialle musiikin siivittämänä. </p>\n<p>Iltatapahtuman ytimeksi on suunniteltu Kårenia. Päivätapahtuma puolestaan rönsyilee ja levittäytyy Vanhan Suurtorin ja jokirannan suuntaan kohti kaupungin kaupallista ydinkeskustaa. Luomme taiteentäyteisen ja elämyksellisen ympäristön, jossa seikkaillessaan yleisö löytää tapahtuman ytimeen. Kaupunkilaisten pariin juuret levittävä taideviidakko houkuttelee paikalle väkeä myös yllättäen ja sattumalta. </p>\n<p>Tapahtuman ajankohdaksi on valittu lokakuu, jolloin kesäkauden tapahtumasuma on jo hiljentynyt, eivätkä joulunalusajan kiireet ole vielä alkaneet. Värikäs tapahtuma tuo valoa ja iloa pimenevään syyskauteen, ja samalla herättelee kaupunkilaiset löytämään ympärivuotisen kulttuuritarjonnan. </p>\n<p>Erotumme muista monitaidefestivaaleista sillä, että toteuttaja on voittoa tavoittelematon, taiteellinen ja paikallinen verkosto, jonka mallista haetaan oppia ympäri Suomen. Jokaisella verkoston toimijalla on oma kohderyhmänsä ja yleisönsä. Keskeisenä ideana on yleisön ristiinpölytys, jolla saatamme uusia yleisöjä uusien toimijoiden pariin. Tavoitteena on, että jokainen yleisössä törmää itselleen uuteen ja tuntemattomaan taidetoimijaan. Maksuttoman ohjelman ansiosta taidekokemukset ovat laajan yleisön saavutettavissa. </p>\n<p>Tulevaisuudessa toivomme tapahtuman vakiintuvan vuosittaiseksi ja tarjoavan kaupunkilaisille sekä taidealan toimijoille matalan kynnyksen kohtaamisalustan. Tapahtuman juuret ovat leimallisesti turkulaiset, mutta sen mahdollisuudet kiinnostavana monitaiteisena festivaalina ovat merkittävät myös alueellisesti ja kansallisesti. Myös merkittävä osa tonttialueen arvokkaista puista halutaan säilyttää.</p>\n<p>Korttelit sisältävät monipuolisesti eri toimintoja; liiketilaa, toimistoja ja erityyppisiä asuntoja erilaisin hallintamuodoin. Liiketilat keskittyvät vihreän aukiotilan ympärille ja Martinkadun varteen. Säilytettävä puurakennus kunnostetaan liiketilaksi ravintolavarauksella. Toimistorakennus muodostaa korttelin näkyvän päätteen etelästä Martinkadulta päin. Pysäköinti on kaksikerroksisessa pysäköintilaitoksessa pihakannen alla.</p>\n<p>Asuntojakauma on perheasuntopainotteinen ja monipuolinen, sisältäen rivitaloasuntoja, asuntoja omilla maantasopihoilla, 1½-kerroksisia asuntoja ja komeita kattoasuntoja. Uusien rakennusten koko ja korkeus pienenee joelle päin. Ratkaisulla pyritään säilyttämään rannan ympäristön väljyyttä ja vanhaa puustoa sekä huomioimaan hyvät näkymät korttelin sisältä ja viereisistä kortteleista.</p>"

Linear systems overlap each other, link the area also parallel to the river edge, flow around defined neighbourhood identities and promote the exchange between port, terminal, museum, castle, Forum Marinum and the city centre. This is reinforced by spatial offerings in central areas. In the independent quarters, public, private and semi-public spaces interlock, which is promoted by a functional mix. Various typologies (Point Block, Promenade Houses, Slap and Point Slap) allow for an interaction of housing with small-scale social, cultural and service units, create complementary offers and make the individual city islands accessible to the general public. The urban transformation envisages a mixed-use neighbourhood with specific and diverse characters, in which non-motorised traffic will have priority. Various urban configurations with diverse spatial situations are to shape the quarter in the long term. </p>\n<p>The urban development to the west of the castle can be seen as an impulse for a city-wide discussion. The city as a production location can provide spatial impulses at this site for an ongoing international discourse. </p>\n<p><strong>Open Archipelago designs an urban future and allows sufficient flexibility in the structural and physical design. </strong></p>\n<h4><strong>Landscape and flood protection </strong></h4>\n<p>Flood protection creates long-term planning and development security. It takes different forms in the individual subspaces (wall, building as an integrated component, Turku Terraces as a space to be experienced), gives rhythm to urban design and qualifies the continuous promenade along the bank as a public space. At the same time, it defines access, increases the permeability of the urban development and is a logical part of the structural development. </p>\n<p>The exterior space is the mediator and the transistor of the new harbour area. Among other things, it takes on tasks of contemplation and activity. At the same time, its ecological tasks are emphasized and the microclimate improved by the design of the green spaces with plantings of resilient, native tree species and the use of local materials. Small \"multi-functional natural stone islands\" are surrounded by paths for pedestrians and cyclists and continuous linear green corridors. As a retention area with a central trough, it becomes an important pillar of flood protection. </p>\n<h4><strong>Forum Marinum </strong></h4>\n<p>Already today, the Forum Marinum is an important, identity-creating place. As a first element, it will become an initial project and an important beacon for the overall development. It builds a bridge between the existing urban fabric and the transformation of the harbour. The forum is complemented by the repositioning of the \"storehouses\", which are to offer space for a wide range of uses. As an urban incubator, participatory community places will be created, artistic-creative uses will be offered and gastronomic infrastructure will be provided. </p>\n<h4><strong>Turku MoHaF </strong></h4>\n<p>The Turku MoHaF is becoming the new face of the estuary. In addition to the new terminal, which in its horizontality picks up on the surrounding harbour architecture, the two buildings (one of which serves as an extension) see themselves as a self-evident part of the public space. The wall of the flood protection will be raised and the cubature of the buildings is derived from the surrounding spatial relationships. The ramp will become a public space that can be experienced, the end point of the green axis and promenade, connecting the two together and thus underlining the importance of the new museum. </p>",

Esimerkkinä tästä ovat pohjakerroksen asunnot, joilla on omat etupihansa ja sisäänkäyntinsä sekä korttelipihan että kadun puolella. Samalla ratkaisut elävöittävät korttelia ympäröivää katu- ja kaupunkitilaa. </p>\n<p>Korttelin parvekemaailma on myös olennainen osa ympäristön ja korttelin elävöittämistä. Vaihtelevat parvekeratkaisut mahdollistavat eloisan tunnelman muodostumisen sekä kadun että pihan puolella. </p>\n<p>Korttelirakenne muokkautuu ympäröivien katutilojen identiteettien mukaan ja terassoituu Kauppakadun koilliskulmasta (7 krs). alaspäin kohti Kanaalikadun lounaiskulmaa (5 krs.). Terassointi luo sisäpihasta valoisan, viihtyisän mikroilmaston sekä toimivan mittakaavan pihamiljöölle. </p>\n<p>Sisäpihan kasvillisuus on monilajista ja kerroksellista sekä vuodenaikojen mukaan ilmeeltään vaihtelevaa. Korttelin ulkokehän julkisivu on jaettu pienempiin osiin tarkoituksena vahvistaa korttelin ilmeen vaihtelevuutta. Kirjavuutta ja variaatiota luodaan jakamalla julkisivujen materiaalimaailmaa sekä pituus- että korkeussuunnassa. </p>\n<p>Materiaalina julkisivuissa käytetään pääsääntöisesti tiiltä. Värimaailma julkisivuissa puhuu samaa kieltä läpi korttelin punaisen ja ruskean eri säyvissä. Lisäksi rakennusmassojen syvyyteen ehdotetaan vaihtelevuutta.</p>\n<p>Rakennusten eri runkosyvyydet pilkkovat pitkiä korttelijulkisivuja pienempiin osakokonaisuuksiin.</p>"

"fi": "<p>Turkulaisille vuokrattava, liikkuva myyntikärry. Kauppa-alusta, joka mahdollistaa omien ideoiden ja tuotteiden esilletuonnin ja myymisen matalalla kynnyksellä yhden päivän pop-up-kauppana. Kaupungilla on kaikille kaupunkilaisille yhdeksi päiväksi vuokrattavia myyntipyöriä yhteensä 2-4 kpl. </p>\n<p>Matkakauppa on päästötön, moderni ja kaikille kaupunkilaisille avoin ja esteetön hanke, joka tekee keskustasta mielenkiintoisemman ja elävämmän. </p>\n<p>Projektin modifioidut laatikkopyörät mahdollistavat kenelle tahansa kaupunkilaiselle paikan ja alustan oman tuotteensa tai palvelunsa myymiselle keskustassa. Matkakauppa sopii hyvin myös kouluprojekteihin ja esimerkiksi aloittaville yrityksille konseptiensa kokeilemiseen matalalla kynnyksellä. Kuluttajille se tarjoaa päivittäin vaihtuvia uusia mielenkiintoisia toimijoita kohdattavaksi keskustassa. </p>\n<p>Mahdollisuudet ovat rajattomat: yhden päivän pop-upissa pyörällä on mahdollista myydä kahvilatoiminnan lisäksi esim. luonnonkukkakimppuja, saunavihtoja, omaa taidetta, keramiikkaa, villasukkia, saippuoita, kynttilöitä, itseleivottuja leipiä tai korvapuusteja, koruja tai järjestää esim. käytettyjen vinyylilevyjen myyntikärryn, sarjakuvakojun tai minikirjakaupan. Myyntipyörässä voi tarjota myös esim. vaatehuoltopalveluita ja kenkien huoltoa tai pikakampauksia, -meikkejä ja päähierontaa. Pyörä taipuu vaikka liikkuvan runoperformanssin tai dj-keikan alustaksi. Kärryyn voi järjestää myös minikirpputorin, vintage-vaatteiden tai vanhojen astioiden myyntikojun. </p>\n<p>Käytännössä pyörät vuokrataan ilmaiseksi tai pientä korvausta vastaan varauskalenterista yhdeksi päiväksi kerrallaan. Ajatuksena on, että myyjät vaihtuisivat aktiivisesti, jolloin jokainen asukas voisi vuokrata pyörää esim. 1 pv/kk. Pyörät on varastossa keskustan alueella, esim. Toriparkissa, josta ne voi noutaa päivän ajaksi. </p>\n<p>Muuttuva matkakauppa leviää orgaanisesti sosiaalisessa mediassa ja antaa Turusta kuvan nykyaikaisena, ihmisläheisenä ja inspiroivana kaupunkina. Samalla se tuo positiivista ja eläväistä tunnelmaa keskustaan. Konsepti kiinnostaa turisteja ja kaupunkilaisia innostaen kaiken ikäisiä ihmisiä suunnittelemaan omia konseptejaan ja mahdollisuuksia toteuttaa itseään. The area will be a natural extension of the city center of Turku while aligning the identity of the landscape and the archipelago in the area. A unique blend of these natural qualities and the vibrant city life is created and will be an important part of Turku National Urban Park. Turku Castle is the heart of the development and new buildings will establish a coherent area with respect to the history, the landscape, and the area in general. Like the new Museum of History and the Future that is built into the landscape it creates a new cultural center that connects the castle with Forum Marinum. </strong></p>\n<p>Because several buildings are a high-risk for flooding, the project is also designed to focus on flood prevention, so buildings will stand secure and dry. This makes it possible to add new buildings even at the low-level areas in the western part of the grounds. Most of the existing buildings are maintained and many are given new functionalities with respect to the history. The mix of new and old creates an interesting vibrant neighborhood with a total construction at approximately 68.200 m2 of which around 30% is new. This opens the area up for new attractions for locals and tourists, like water sports, cafes, shops, and cultural events. </p>\n<p>The change in the landscape for a green and sustainable future is a key element in the proposal. Inspired by the Finnish landscape, many new trees will be planted as a natural extension of Turku Castle Park. The strategy is based on two main concepts: the not strictly hierarchical approach sought in the relationships between the different parts, and the osmotic correlation between built and open space, mobility infrastructures and places of common living. </p>\n<p>The project on the margins, both internals and externals, is the WOAH! fundamental theme. The margin is intended primarily as an identity figure. It can also be non-physical or related to the image, conveyed through the new architecture and its negative, the empty space. A margin that can slow down (the timeframe of the proximity space) and give shape (to architectural typologies). The new cityscape dialogues closely with the landscape and both are joined by the topography design. Over time, the topography creates a topology: a series of significant, socially lived, flexible yet well recognizable places. The WOAH! masterplan is divided into ten areas, closely related one another. They mostly develop along the east-west axis, from the mouth of the Aura towards the compact city. The backbone of the settlement strategy is the central part, which develops radially at the foot of the castle. </p>\n<p>WOAH! seeks for a coordinate and well balanced strategy, which does not generate disarticulation between the parts and correctly manages the activation and growth times of the various opera- tions, through a step by step annual evolution. </p>\n<p>Then there’s the no less important aspect of the overall strategy based mainly on intangible aspects of urban metabolism. WOAH! introduces recycling and reuse practices extended to the various activities. Thus, in addition to the treatment of rainwater (soil and landscape project) and the drastic reduction of C02 emissions (project for new mobility, sustainable construction technologies), the strategy includes numerous complementary actions such as local energy production, attention to the seasonal cycles of nature, digital transition (responsive urban data management). </p>",

The buildings comprise a symphony of elements that combine to form the whole experience of the site. The site is anchored at each end with public squares that will draw people to their various public buildings. Various links are provided between the squares to draw people through the whole site and providing them with different experiences as they traverse the site. The scheme provides for openness between the river and the castle giving framed views to each for people using the site and from the river and surrounding areas. The castle is given prime importance at the centre of the scheme with numerous views of it from diverse locations such as Assembly Square, the housing area and the rear terrace of the Museum of History and the Future. Water and landscaping are important features of the proposal both in the use of existing elements and the newly introduced features such as the water basins and landscape areas located throughout the scheme. A large park is located at the western extremity of the site and acts as a buffer to the activities of the ferry terminal and also provides various leisure facilities to the public. </p>\n<p>A large, partially flooded square is provided at the eastern end of the site and this will also function as an outdoor exhibition space to be used in conjunction with Forum Marinum and the Museum of History and the Future. It also provides space for outdoor events and is the entry point into the scheme from the city. </p>\n<p>High end residential accommodation is provided to the centre of the site in disparate blocks that allow for views between the castle and the river. They will have large glazed elements to maximise daylight and the surrounding views. </p>\n<p>At the western end of the site there are two interlinked squares with various interconnected functions that work to the benefit of each other. The first square is Assembly Square and has new buildings on three sides and is open to the river on the southern side. The open ends of this square and Marinum Square will encourage links to the river and provide drop off points for various boats. Assembly Square features a long narrow inlet for a feature ship and a large open space. The latter can be used for open air events such as concerts in conjunction with the Culture Centre whose feature steps act as a stage for performances. Muistan lapsuudestani Turun Stockan ja Wikken näyteikkunat loputtoman mielikuvituksen ja illuusion aarreaittoina, joita olisi voinut katsoa vaikka kuinka pitkään. Jossain vaiheessa joko näyteikkunoiden taso laski hurjasti tai, todennäköisemmin: aika on kullannut lapsuuden tavaratalojen näyteikkunat. Ja myös huvipuistojen kummitusjunat ja seikkailuradat, joissa oli motoroituja hahmoja, jotka vaunun saapuessa käännöksen takaa tuntuivat kaatuvan päälle ja liikkuivat ja käkättivät. Ne olivat niin cooleja kun olin pieni. Nyt koronan aikana olen huomannut ihmisillä olevan edelleen jäljellä tarpeen kokea tarinoita, mutta niitä olisi hyvä kokea myös poissa oman televisio- tai tietokon<del>e</del>ruudun edestä. Perinteisissä elokuvissa ja teatterissa ihmiset ovat ahtaasti pienessä tilassa ja tartuntojen riski on olemassa turvaväleistä huolimatta ja osa kokee riskin niin ahdistavaksi, että välttelee nyt teattereita ja elokuvia. Kun ulkoiluakin suositaan, mutta joulukuussa Turku ei ole välttämättä ehkeimmillään ulkoiluun, eikä kohteita jonne mennä ole välttämättä paljoa niin mieleeni tuli, että voisiko jouluikkuna olla jokapäiväisen kävelyn kohokohta, voisiko jouluikkuna muuttua joka päivä hiukan erilaiseksi niin että sen luo haluaisi palata seuraavanakin päivänä? Voisiko ikkuna olla ei-kaupallinen? Voiko ikkunassa kertoa tarinan? </p>\n<p>Ei-kaupalliseen entisen liikehuoneiston näyteikkunaan rakentuva tarinaikkuna on helposti kaikkien ohikulkijoiden ja paikalle varta vasten vaeltavien nähtävissä ja joka yö ikkunassa tapahtuu muutos, joka avaa uuden aukeaman kertomuksessa. Tarinassa näemme poikkileikkauksen kuvitteellisten maan alla elävien kontiaisia - mutta myös ihmisiä - muistuttavien olentojen maailmaan joiden talvi- ja joulupuuhia sekä kaivuuseikkailuita pääsemme seuraamaan. Tarinan esiintyjät ovat nukkeja, joita liikutetaan moottorien avulla. Kontiaisolennot mm. kaivavat tunnelia, laittavat ruokaa, vastaanottavat vieraita tai löytävät aarteita uusista tunneleista. Käsikirjoituksessa otetaan huomioon, ettei tarinalla tueta suhteettomasti minkään tietyn olemassaolevan kulttuurin tereotypiota esimerkiksi uskonnosta tai sukupuolesta, perhekäsityksestä tai siitä miltä joulun pitää näyttää. Ikkunanäyttämön kohdeyleisönä ovat lapset, lapsenmieliset, uteliaat ohikulkijat ja aikuiset, jotka edelleen kaihoten muistelevat lapsuuden yhtä hienoja ja jännittäviä näyteikkunoita. </p>\n<p>Projektin toteutuksesta vastaavat nukenrakentajat, tuottaja, tarpeistonvalmistaja, motoriikkakonsultti sekä sarjakuvakerrontaan perehtynyt käsikirjoittaja. Teos tuo ennakkoluulottomalla tavalla tarinankerrontaa julkiseen, helposti saavutettavaan kaupunkiympäristöön. Projektissa yhdistyvät nukketeatteri, robotiikka, sarjakuvista tuttu kerrontatapa ja uusi toimintaympäristö tarinankerronnalle. Turku on tunnettu vahvasti sarjakuva- ja nukketeatteriosaamisestaan, joten sen soisi näkyvän myös kaikille turkulaisille ja kauemmaskin. Jouluikkuna houkuttelee joulukaupunki Turkuun matkailijoita muualtakin Suomesta ja jouluikkuna saa näkyvyyttä myös kansainvälisesti rohkeana ei-kaupallisena kaupunkitilan haltuunottona. The main theme of the new project consists in linking the original characters of the place with a collective, cultural and social vision of spaces and functions, avoiding an increase in density and avoiding merely commercial transformations. </p>\n<p>In this way, the new urban complex houses two main poles around which the main functions are gathered: The commercial and cultural center is located to the left of the Castle; the cultural and recreational center is located to the right of the Castle. </p>\n<p>The role of the Castle was fundamental in tracing the lines that underlie the new settlement project. It is memory and is present, resulting in the main, now and in the future, a representative artifact of the cultural heritage of the place. In fact, the new architectures are all designed to be lower and less dense. </p>\n<p>A fundamental theme of the project concerns the nature of the landscape which is amplified by the presence of trees and green systems, also with the inclusion of water and water recovery systems to promote general environmental sustainability and respect for the place. </p>\n<p>Circulation in the area takes place following the principle of less intrusion of autonomous combustion forms of transport; collective vehicles (surface underground) and autonomous vehicles with natural propulsion (bicycles, electric scooters, other minimum electric vehicles) are favored. </p>\n<p>The green areas are designed to be places that can be used both in summer and in winter. During the summer they are characterized by large spaces for collective activities (concerts, gatherings, sports, education, theater, open-air cinema, forum) and during the winter, the construction of some multifunctional sports pavilions and for other activities are planned play inside. </p>\n<p>The space under the Castle has been left free to allow greater visibility and also to encourage large-scale collective activities with temporary solutions. </p>\n<p>Some buildings currently in the area are designed to be replaced, others to be demolished. Also, the city shaped the Linnanniemi area as a maritime transportation hub. </p>\n<p>Today with climate change and urban growth, an estuary of the Aura river is challenged to develop a sustainable urban structure. The expectation for healthier living conditions and cultural environment is higher in the future. Furthermore, the city is asked to correspond to the shift of economic and industrial paradigm. </p>\n<p>How can we develop the city for the future with an abnormal climate and uncertain socio-economic environment? A Memory of the Future is a vision of the future city by learning from the nature and history of Turku. The shape of the furthest future might be the most primitive and natural; the resilient living platform. The project suggests districts with strong identities and historical heritage. Linnanniemi will transform to an accessible and active extension of the city center; a vibrant and attractive urban archipelago. </p>",

"fi": "<p>Turku kutsuu tanssiin! Tanssiva Turku ja tanssista iloa ammentava Turun keskusta, joka kutsuu turkulaisia tanssiin, voi olla yhteisöllinen kehollisten kohtaamisten mahdollistaja. Tanssimalla ihmiset ovat kehollisessa yhteydessä itseensä ja toisiinsa. Turku kutsuu tanssiin -hanke on kolmen tanssitapahtuman sarja, joka yhdistää Ecstatic Dancea, lavatansseja ja vapaata liikettä. Haluna on saada mahdollisimman moni liikkumaan. Tapahtumat ovat päihteettömiä ja maksuttomia. </p>\n<p>Tansseihin haastetaan osallistujia kunnan työntekijöistä, yrityksistä sekä yhteisöistä. Mukaan pyritään saamaan paitsi tanssin harrastajia myös tanssinoviiseja! Tanssi on iloa ja riemua, jonka voi jakaa. Kaikki osaavat tanssia. Yhteisöllisissä tansseissa on tilaa vapaalle tanssille, mutta niissä on myös koreografin luoma yhteisen tanssin osio, johon osallistuminen on vapaaehtoista. Mahdollisia yhteistyötahoja ovat mm. Varsinais-Suomen alueen tanssinkeskus, Tanssistudio Flama, Tanssiseura Sekahaku, Aura of Puppets, Kuuma Ankanpoikanen. </p>\n<p>Tanssi on mahdollista kaikille ja sen tuominen julkiseen tilaan elävöittää keskusta-aluetta ja tuo iloa alueen kulkijoille. Innovatiivisuus perustuu tanssin tuomiseen julkiseen tilaan isoja joukkoja liikuttavana tapahtumana sekä monitaiteisuuteen (katutaide ja katuteatteri ovat osana tapahtumaa). Tapahtumat ovat kansan ja tanssin juhlaa, mahdollisuus yhteiseen liikkeelliseen iloitteluun. A new central Cultural Axis links the different programs and cultural attractions with the landscape qualities, in an east/west bound direction as a continuation of the city center. </p>\n<p>By developing upon existing qualities and densifying with respect for the areas history and existing use, a new neighborhood is established with a variety of workspace, commercial, shopping, living, cultural and recreational opportunities. “The Wedge” is designed according to everyday life situations and creates a vibrant urban space where culture and nature merges in symbiose. </p>\n<p>The sites history at the mouth of the Aura River, with fortification, museum activities within the castle, the cargo- and train traffic, the warehouses, the wharfs and later the cruise and ferry traffic is important historic stages that affect the identity of the site. “The Wedge” embraces and builds upon this identity and merges the new programs, idioms, materials, and structures, with the existing in a new coherent urban masterplan. </p>\n<p>The site faces major environmental challenges with rising sea waters and increased stormwater, due to the area's low-lying status. Seawater barriers and stormwater strategies have therefore been essential in the planning process. These infrastructural necessities have been designed as recreational elements, which merge with the landscape and provide opportunities for leisure beyond their primary infrastructural purpose. "fi": "<p>Sarjakuvafestivaali, jonka tavoitteena on ohjelma, jossa korostuvat sarjakuvakulttuurin monet puolet: ns. tavalliselle kansalaiselle tarjotaan mahdollisuuksia tutustua sarjakuvaan uudesta näkökulmasta, esimerkiksi osallistumalla työpajoihin ja näyttelyihin. Myös puheohjelmassa otetaan huomioon kulttuurista kiinnostuneet kansalaiset. </p>\n<p>Ammattilaisille on luvassa erityistä ohjelmaa, jossa pääpaino on sarjakuva-ammattilaisuuden kehittämisessä ja mielipiteiden vaihdossa ammattilaisten kesken. Surface parking, the rail line, and the large cruise terminal buildings will be demolished to create a cohesive city structure that connects to the riverfront. </p>\n<p>Turku Castle is the celebrated centerpiece of Point Park. The proposed Museum of History and the Future wraps the southern side of Castle Park and acts as an extension of the castle grounds. The riverfront landscape slopes up to wrap the single story museum, creating a multifunctional “museum hill” that respects the castle’s prominence. Museum Hill forms a south-facing recreation zone that provides exciting views to the castle, the river, and an outdoor plaza that can host small or large-scale events. North of the castle, Linnankatu is closed to drive-through traffic, and the existing wooden storehouses are converted to public functions to create an attractive and activated streetscape. </p>\n<p>Forum Marinum’s surface parking is transformed to a flexible outdoor exhibit and gathering space that increases connectivity to the riverfront and the museum ships. "fi": "<p>Turkuun tarvitaan koko kansan iso pyöräilytapahtuma, jotta ihmisten on jatkossa entistäkin helpompi tulla pyörällä keskustaan, syttymään sen tunnelmasta! Keskustaan tullaan jo nyt usein pyörällä, mutta tilanne voisi olla vielä huomattavasti parempikin. Turun Pyörämessut on yksi hyvä ratkaisu tähän haasteeseen. </p>\n<p>Perinteisen messukonseptin lisäksi tapahtuma sisältää monia innovatiivisia elementtejä, jotka tekevät messuista kiertotaloudellisen, turvallisuusmyönteisen, kaupallisen ja varsinkin koko kansalle suunnatun pyöräilytapahtuman. Innovatiivista on mm. se, että kävijät voivat tuoda pyöränsä ilmaiseksi myyntiin ja oman pyöränsä voi tulla korjaamaan ilmaiseksi Suomen suurimmalle pyöräpajalle vain osat maksamalla ja polkemista ei myöskään korosteta niin isosti suuren sähköpyörävallankumouksen edellä (vaikkei polkeminen niistäkään mihinkään ole hävinnyt). </p>\n<p>Tulevaisuudessa innovatiivisuus näkyisi erityisesti vielä kahdessa asiassa: siinä, että turkulaisten pyörät olisivat Suomen parhaimmin dokumentoituja ja kuvattuja varkauksien estämiseksi ja kaupankäynnin helpottamiseksi ja toiseksi siinä, että Turun keskustan kortteleiden pihoilta ja pyöräsuojista käyttämättömät ja hylätyt pyörät kiertäisivät jatkossa korjattaviksi ja uusiokäyttöön tehokkaimmin koko maailmassa! </p>\n<p>Turulla on jo ennestään varsin maineikas historia pyöräkaupunkina. Turkuun on aikanaan perustettu mm. Suomen ensimmäinen polkupyörätehdas ja Turun seutu on aikanaan ollut selvästi Suomen suurin pyöränvalmistusalue ja ala on ollut aikanaan merkittävä työllistäjä. Turusta lähtöisin olevat isot pyörämerkit ovat myös hallinneet Suomen pyörämarkkinoita vuosikymmeniä ja ovat edelleenkin tunnettuja. Turun Pyörämessut kunnioittasi tätä hienoa historiallistakin ulottuvuutta oivalla tavalla. </p>\n<p>Messuilla voisivat iloisesti kohdata toisensa upouuden sähköpyörän ostava eläkeläinen, joka on tuonut vanhan pyöränsä myyntiin ja tuore opiskelija, joka huoltaa siitä omin käsin oivan menopelin itselleen. Tai näemme siellä lapsiperheen, joka on tullut paikalle tuomaan lasten vanhat pyörät myyntiin, ostamaan paremmat tilalle ja samalla näemme, miten kaikkien pyöriin syttyvät myös kunnon ajovalot! Jokaisella osallistujalla olisi mahdollisuus kuulla myös mm. historiallinen esitelmä Turusta maineikkaana pyöräkaupunkina ja tulevaisuudentutkijan visio siitä, miten tätä hienoa historiaa kirjoitetaan tuleville sukupolville uudellakin vuosituhannella. Ja Pyörämessujen jälkeen kävijöille on syttynyt silmiin ihan uudenlainen hehku ja kipinä, jonka ajamana he ovat taas valmiita pyörillään valloittamaan Turun keskustan, Suomen pyöräpääkaupungin ytimen! The area of Linnanniemi is understood as a link to the Archipelago so the intervention goes beyond its limits and becomes a hub and an exchange center related to all islands. </p>\n<p>In a very simple first step the train tracks will be removed and a pedestrian and bikes axis will activate the area that will be re-naturalized creating fields, forests and floodable zones that will assure a net of dry paths in the worst episodes. At the same time, the first buildings in the west area will appear, next to a transportation hub as a piazza which embraces all kind of mobility from the tram station, electric car parking spaces or the same terminal, always letting views from the boats to the castle and oriented to have the most of day light. The blocks will be elevated on platforms that will create multiple use porches and between them squares that will have a dense urban activity in the north but flowing into a more landscape – natural areas in the south, arriving to water. It will be a rich and heterogeneous area for visitors and local producers and manufacturers. Products from the archipelago will be stored, local markets will be placed... On the offices over them new start-ups promoting local business with very rich public spaces will be the perfect spot for young entrepreneurs to establish their roots in Turku or, as we prefer, in the Archipelago. Local community will find new ways of socialization and working together in an area that has been only to the service of tourists’ transportation. </p>\n<p>Following the coastal line from the west naturalization is combined with little structures for leisure: from tiny cottages for children to water sport facilities that will be flexible and adaptable to the future needs. A main “green agora” - facing the sun with the castle leading the scene, depressed in the center to create a welcoming geometry - will allocate from spontaneous activities to festivals in summer. Water will flood it during wet periods to protect other areas from water and it will leak naturally to the soil. </p>\n<p>This coastal promenade will be followed by crops fields that will be in use by local farmers and will be in environmental balance with the deconstructed zone of little islands so fauna will be attracted, mostly local birds that can be found in the archipelago. After it the past and future museum, built as a huge cantilever that lets public space go underneath it with a covered exterior auditorium, will be a new viewpoint towards the river, the castle and the archipelago. With the Forum Marinum the new museums piazza will lead to the river front promenade. </p>\n<p>It will be a key intervention for the future of Turku and the Archipelago. A unique chance to - without losing a global gaze - taking care of local values, both human and not human and creating new and adaptable networks with all communities that will merge in Linnanniemi. </p>",

Water will flood it during wet periods to protect other areas from water and it will leak naturally to the soil. </p>\n<p>This coastal promenade will be followed by crops fields that will be in use by local farmers and will be in environmental balance with the deconstructed zone of little islands so fauna will be attracted, mostly local birds that can be found in the archipelago. After it the past and future museum, built as a huge cantilever that lets public space go underneath it with a covered exterior auditorium, will be a new viewpoint towards the river, the castle and the archipelago. With the Forum Marinum the new museums piazza will lead to the river front promenade. </p>\n<p>It will be a key intervention for the future of Turku and the Archipelago. A unique chance to - without losing a global gaze - taking care of local values, both human and not human and creating new and adaptable networks with all communities that will merge in Linnanniemi. </p>"

"fi": "<p>Ehdotuksessamme tukeudutaan niihin periaatteisiin, joita kaupungin eri kehitysstrategioissa on linjattu. Turun kaupunkistrategia 2029:n mukaan Turun keskustaa kehitetään kaupunkikulttuurin sydämenä, kaupunkilaisten yhteisenä viihtyisänä ympäristönä sekä monipuolisena liike-elämän, kaupan, kulttuurin ja matkailun vetovoimaisena keskittymänä. Hankkeemme lähtee juuri tästä, eli sen tarkoitus on edistää keskustan ympärivuotista houkuttelevuutta, kehittää kulttuuri- ja tapahtumatoimintaa, vahvistaa julkisia kaupunkitiloja sekä kaupallisen keskustan elinvoimaa sekä toimia vipuvoimana uusille yksityisille investoinneille. Samat tavoitteet on linjattu Turun kehittämisen kärkihankkeessa. </p>\n<p>Hanke tukee myös Turun keskustavision tavoitteita sekä tasaa keskustavision Aurajoen itärantaan painottunutta lähestymistapaa sekä tarjoaa kaupungille mahdollisuuden kasvattaa vuokratulojaan verrattain pienellä investoinnilla. Tarkoitus on laajentaa keskustan kaupallista ydintä kohti satamaa samalla laajentaen kävely- ja pyöräilypainoitteista sekä helposti kuljettavaa keskusta-aluetta. Ehdotuksessa tämä toteutetaan tavalla, jossa kaupallisen ja kulttuurikäytössä olevan tilan määrää lisätään puutealueelle niin, että Turun keskieurooppalaistyylisen jokirannan asema vahvistuu. Mallia on haettu mm. Kööpenhaminan Reffen-alueesta. Ehdotuksessa tämä toteutetaan modulaariratkaisulla, jossa kehitysalue muutetaan mukautettavaksi ja yrittäjyyteen sekä tapahtumiin kannustavaksi kaupunkialueeksi. Kannustamalla kaupunkilaisia ravintola- sekä kulttuuritoimintaan lisätään kaupungin viihtyisyyttä sekä tarjotaan sataman alueen tuleville asukkaille uusi eloisa kohtaamispaikka. </p>\n<p>Hankkeen innovatiivisuus kumpuaa siitä, että se pureutuu Suomen kaupunkisuunnittelun ongelmakohtaan – aukioon. Suomessa on perinteisesti oltu verrattain huonoja rakentamaan aukioita, jotka kutsuisivat viihtymään sekä pyörittämään kaupallista toimintaa. Tämä johtuu useimmiten aukioiden sijainnista, liian isosta koosta sekä kaupallisesti käyttökelpoisen tilan puutteesta. Turku on tässä poikkeus, johtuen juuri kaupungin iästä. Keskieurooppalaiselle historialliselle kaupungille sen aukiot ovat itseisarvo ja suosittuja kohtaamispaikkoja. Hankkeessamme aukio eli Varvintori pyritään elävöittämään kokonaisvaltaisella tavalla, joka huomioi kaikki kaupungin olemassaolevat vahvat puolet. A circular configuration would put focus on a single chosen point. </p>\n<p>The volumetric composition of the proposal allow the different areas of the Castle to be framed from different points of view </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Buildings step down to the Castle to acknowledge hierarchy and human scale, and to connect to the water </li>\n <li>The new low buildings along the sides of the Castle main axis frame the castle to incoming boats </li>\n <li>The alignment of the buildings to the star configuration creates views of the Castle from every angle. </li>\n</ul>\n<h4><strong>The Program configuration: </strong></h4>\n<p>Built areas in the pattern make up the petals of the star, organize roads and create a pedestrian waterfront. </p>\n<p>The Industrial program is placed towards the port area where tall buildings create a sound barrier protecting the rest of the site. The buildings also cover the drop off areas and some of the car parking. </p>\n<p>The Commercial program (office, retail) is placed towards the west, and scattered in the other program areas to allow for restaurants and local ‘corner shops’. Residential areas are placed towards the south in the least noisy areas with views of the water, creating a waterfront. </p>\n<p>The Museum is connecting the existing museums and Castle </p>\n<p>Other Institutional areas placed on or near the residential areas are reserved for education. </p>\n<p>The ensemble is respecting the important existing buildings and creating a balanced mixed environment. </p>\n<h4><strong>New building areas: </strong></h4>\n<p>Residential: 72,000 m2 </p>\n<p>Commercial: 102,000 m2 </p>\n<p>Industrial: 106,000 m2 </p>\n<p>Institutional: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Museum: 7,000 m2 </li>\n <li>Schools: 4,800 m2 </li>\n <li>Pavilions: 1,200 m2 </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Total maximized new building area: 295,000 m2 </p>\n<p>Car parking areas </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Open Parking: 250 p </li>\n <li>Multistory parking (2 levels) 560+p </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Total: 810+ parking places </p>\n<p>More parking places possible in basements </p>\n<h4><strong>The different programs of the site: </strong></h4>\n<p>With a completely new configuration that adapts to the context focusing to the Turku Castle. "en": "<p><a href=\"https://entries.linnanniemi.weup.city/proposal/zff9tqzfw?view_mode=true&start_index=0\" target=\"_blank\">Pavilion Gardens</a></p>\n<p>Called to imagine the future of Linnanniemi in a really particular moment for the whole world, the concept of a strategic development plan requires a lot of optimism and imagination. </p>\n<h4>What should be the priorities? </h4>\n<p>Two ideas define the guideline: </p>\n<ol>\n <li>Culture as the main “vocation” of the area but also on a wider scale as a way to find a new economic balance based not only on the built environment. </li>\n <li>Considering the whole area as an extension of the Castle’s garden, as an essential part of the Archipelago structure, and the buildings as a sequence of light and flexible pavilions in accordance with the best tradition of garden design. </li>\n</ol>\n<p>The space of the old and the new “Factory hall” will be a perfect model for a vibrant and creative urban life programme. </p>\n<h4>Part of the Archipelago, Part of the City</h4>\n<p>Linnanniemi is an area of strategic importance that for its geographical location as part of the wider Archipelago calls for a reconsideration of the urban structure to which to refer to in the future implementation process. Moving the Terminals Linnanniemi finds itself empty and without purpose: the Castle and the other protected buildings and main historic assets seem to be scattered over the area without connection to embrace their cultural value. </p>\n<p>Implementing the “Museum of History and Future” in and next to the Seaport building, in line with the new harbour, the new Seaport Hotel and the new Terminal a first axis is created, providing an iconic and unique image for visitors and citizens. "fi": "<p>Pysäköintipaikat vievät tarpeettoman suuren tilan katutilassamme. Niiden keskimääräinen pinta-ala on 12,5 neliömetriä (mitat 2,5 x 5 metriä). Pysäköintipaikat muodostavat yhdessä suuren osan kaupunkitilasta. Ajattelemalla laatikon ulkopuolelle luomme tilan, jolla on loputtomat mahdollisuudet ideoille ja innovaatioille. </p>\n<p>Kestävän kehityksen yhteiskunnassa yksityisautoilua tulisi vähentää kaupunkialueella ja luoda enemmän tilaa ihmisten tapaamiselle. Auton sijasta pysäköintiruutuun Pop-up Koppi. Vain mielikuvitus on rajana Pop-up Kopin tilankäytössä. Esimerkiksi Koppi voi toimia esiintymislavana katubändille tarjoten musiikkia ja tanssia. Tämä lisäisi kaupunkilaisten viihtyvyyttä ja olisi virkistävä lisä katukuvaan. </p>\n<p>-</p>\n<p>Parkeringsplatser tar onödigt stort utrymme i vårt gatuutrymme. De har en genomsnittlig yta på 12,5 kvadratmeter (mått 2,5 x 5 meter). Parkeringsplatser utgör alltså tillsammans även en stor del av stadsutrymmet. I ett hållbart samhälle bör privatbilsanvändningen minskas i stadsområdet och mer utrymme skapas för människor att träffas på. </p>\n<p>Genom att tänka utanför parkeringsrutans ramar kan vi skapa ett utrymme med oändliga möjligheter för idéer och innovation. Men hur? Svaret på den frågan heter Pop-up Koppi! Istället för en bil på en parkeringsplats, skulle en eller flera Pop-up Koppin kunna placeras ut. </p>\n<p>Endast fantasin är gränsen för Pop-up Koppis användningsförmåga. Pop-Up Koppi kan till exempel fungera som en perfekt scen för ett gatuband, som erbjuder både musik och dans, eller varför inte ett litet café, loppis eller konstinstallation? Linnanniemellä kohtaavat historia ja nykypäivä, laiva sataman ja Suomi maailman. </p>\n<p>Tulevaisuudessa Linnanniemestä muodostuu entistä vahvemmin näiden yllätyksellisten ja ainutlaatuisten kohtaamisten tapahtumarikas kaupunginosa. Suunnitelmassa Linnanniemen aluetta kehitetään monipuolisesti erityisesti vapaa-ajan toimintoja ja matkailua tukevaksi alueeksi. </p>\n<p>Suunnitelman taustalla vaikuttaa neljä keskeistä teemaa: Avautuvat rannat ja laajentuvat viheralueet Satamatoiminnoilta vapautuvat rannat avautuvat jälleen kaupunkilaisten käyttöön. Forum Marinumin museo kasvaa, uusi saaristolauttasatama mahdollistaa uudet yhteydet saaristomerelle, entiseen matkustajaterminaaliin syntyy saaristoa esittelevä meriluontokeskus ja uusi ruotsinlaivojen yhteisterminaali luo uudet puitteet yhteyksille Ruotsiin ja Ahvenanmaalle. </p>\n<p>Suunnitelmassa Historian museo sijoittuu Forum Marinumin ja Turun linnan väliin toimien porttina keskustasta Linnanniemen alueelle kuljettaessa. Aurajoen rantaan sijoittuva museo on maamerkkimäinen rakennus, jonka tapahtuvat laajentuvat ulos tapahtumapihalle. </p>\n<p>Historiallinen Linnan puisto laajenee Aurajoen rantaan ja entisen rautatien paikalle sijoittuu bulevardimainen puistokäytävä. Linnan puiston uusi osa, Rantapuisto, on toiminnallinen viheralue, joka lännessä rajoittuu uuteen Linnanlahteen, jossa on myös pieni venesatama. </p>\n<p>Lahden länsirannalle sijoittuu Linnanniemen pihamainen ja suojaisa tapahtumakeskus. Sitä ympäröiviin rakennuksiin sijoittuvat sauna ja uimala, kauppahalli, tapahtumatila ja sekoittunutta liike- ja toimitilaa sekä yläkerroksiin asumista. Linnanniemen alueelle sijoittuu myös hotelli sekä pienimuotoisesti asumista uusiin asuinkortteleihin. </p>\n<p>Liikenteellisesti Linnanniemen alue tukeutuu sekä joukkoliikenteeseen että pyöräilyyn ja kävelyyn. Uuden yhteisterminaalin eteen sijoittuu uuden raitiotien päätepysäkki. "fi": "<h4>Tausta </h4>\n<p>Kauppa- ja palvelukulttuuri elävät digitalisaation aiheuttamaa murrosta. Tästä johtuen suuri osa kaupasta on siirtynyt verkkokauppaan, suuriin tienvarsimyymälöihin tai ostoskeskuksiin. Samalla myös uudet rahoitustavat elävät nousujohteista kehitystä. Esimerkkinä tästä ovat joukkorahoituskampanjat, joiden avulla muuten marginaaliset ideat on voitu tuoda suuren yleisön nähtäviksi. Kaupunkien keskusta-alueet ovat kehityksen kääntöpuoli, ne kamppailevat enemmissä määrin pysyäkseen hengissä ja vetovoimaisina. Keskusta-alueet omaavat kuitenkin pääoman, jota hyödyntämällä ne pystyisivät kääntämään murroksen aiheuttaman kehityksen omaksi edukseen: laajan kirjon erilaisia elämäntapoja ja jopa kulttuureja. Jotta tämä potentiaali saadaan jälleen käyttöön modernissa, digitalisoituneessa yhteiskunnassa, tarvitaan uudenlainen alusta kulttuurin ja kaupan kehittämiseen. Alusta tarjoaisi tarvittavan rajapinnan digitaalisuuden ja paikallisuuden väliin. </p>\n<p>Keskusta-alueilla palveluiden tarjonta voi kohdistua kapeaan segmenttiin asiakkaita, sillä alueella elää lähtökohtaisesti enemmän ihmisiä ja siten enemmän elämäntyylejä kuin taajamissa. Keskusta-alueen ihmisillä olisikin siis mahdollisuus löytää joukostaan erilaisia ryhmiä, jotka voisivat toimia yksilöä merkittävimpinä asiakkaina ja hankkia täten suurempia sekä yksilöllisempiä tuotteita ja palveluita alueelleen. Kaupankäyntiä ja joukkorahoitusta varten voidaan suunnitella alusta, joka mahdollistaa tämän keskustojen etulyöntiaseman. </p>\n<p>Yksi digitalisaation tuoma kehitys, joka on vaikuttanut erityisesti ravintoloihin, on niin sanotut pikalähettipalvelut. Tällä hetkellä ne toimittavat lähinnä ravintolaruokaa, mutta kasvavissa määrin ne toimittavat jo esimerkiksi rautakauppatavaraa, kirjoja ja kukkia. Merkittävä ajatus taustalla on kuitenkin se, että ravintoloitsijat, jotka ovat sidottuja lokaatioonsa, voivat laajentaa saavutettavuuttaan palvelun avulla. Samansuuntaisesti jos keskusta-alueen ihmiset voisivat toimia yhtenä suurempana toimijana, voitaisiin heidät nähdä merkittävän kokoisena asiakkaana maailmanlaajuisessa mittakaavassa esimerkiksi kulttuurituotannon saralla. Kuten ravintolat lähettipalveluiden avulla kurovat matkaa asiakkaisiin, olisi keskusta-alueen asukkaan ulottuvissa koko maailman palvelut. </p>\n<h4>Uusi portti - Ehdotuksen esittely </h4>\n<p>Jotta yllä mainittu kehityskulku voitaisiin mahdollistaa Turussa, ehdotetaan toteutettavaksi digitaalinen ja fyysinen alusta Uusi portti. Projektia voidaan kehittää sen elinkaaren aikana tarkkailemalla saavutettua suosiota. Puhelinapplikaation avulla toteutetaan digitaalinen alusta rahoitukselle ja viestinnälle. Sovelluksen avulla erilaiset ryhmät ja kiinnostuksen kohteet voivat helposti löytää toisensa ja järjestää joukkorahoituksen esimerkiksi kiinnostavan puhujan saamiseksi paikalle. Fyysinen paikka ja tilat mahdollistavat palveluiden tai vaikkapa teoksien vastaanottamisen ja majoittamisen. Jotta alustan tarpeista ja kehityssuunnasta saataisiin parempi käsitys, toteutettaisiin aluksi prototyyppi-paviljonki, jossa vaadittavat toiminnot olisi toteutettu pienemmässä mittakaavassa. Paviljonki luo uudenlaisen sataman tai portin kaupunkiin, joka liittää paikallisuuden digitalisaation keinoin globaaleihin tuotantoketjuihin. </p>\n<p>Paviljonki toimisi pienimuotoisena tapahtumapaikkana, työ- ja laboratoriotilana sekä residenssinä vieraileville tuottajille. Näitä kulttuuritoimintaa tukevia tiloja hyödyntäen voitaisiin toteuttaa erilaisia musiikki-, ruoka-, näyttely-, työpaja- ja keskustelutilaisuuksia. Tarkempia esimerkkejä toiminnoista on esitetty liitteissä.* Tonttina paviljongille toimii erityisen hyvin Aurakadun ja Linnankadun risteyksen puistikko, josta on hyvät yhteydet niin kaupalliseen keskustaan, jokirantaan, sekä vanhaankaupunkiin. Paikalla oleva paviljonki purettaisiin, mutta sen tilalle tuleva suunnitelma jatkaisi paviljongin teemaa paikalla. Kanavan rakentaminen Turun linnan ympärille mahdollistaa veneilijöille uudenlaisen mahdollisuuden käydä ihastelemassa linnaa ja sen ympäristöä. </p>\n<p>Vanhat varastorakennukset kunnostetaan hienostuneesti vaalien vanhanajan rakennustyyliä. Samalla kuitenkin luodaan tiloja, jotka ovat täynnä hienoja, moderneja ravintoloita ja kahviloita. </p>\n<p>Koko alue muodostaa uudenlaisen vierasvenesataman, jossa historia ja nykyaika kohtaavat. Alueelta löytyy huvipuisto maailmanpyörineen, konserttialue pienfestivaaleille, ulkoaltain varustettu SPA -hotelli, paljukylä omine yksityislaitureineen paljuilla, museo ja merellinen ostoskeskus, ravintoloita, kahviloita veneilijöille, toimistotiloja sekä luksusasuntoja merinäköalalla. Historian ja tulevaisuuden museo on sijoitettu Turun linnan edustalle. </p>\n<p>Yksikerroksinen suunnitelma, osittain maan alle sijoitettuna, ei estä Turun linnan näkymistä mereltä. Museon arkkitehtuuri kumpuaa sekin historiaa ajalta, jolloin Turun linnan edustalla sijaitsi Turun uudelleen rakentamisen aikaisia puiden säilytyspinoja. Museon seinät tummine hirsineen kuvastavat Turun linnan palosta kasattuja hiiltyneitä puita. </p>\n<p>Koko ranta-alue muutetaan puistomaiseksi oleskelualueeksi. Rannalla on myös esiintymislava pieniä festivaaleja ja viihde-esiintymisiä varten.</p>\n<p>Puistoalueen itäpäässä on myös nosturikahvila. </p>\n<p>Vanha rata poistetaan ja uusi raitiovaunurata sijoitetaan kauemmaksi rannasta. Rata mahdollistaa autovapaan liikkumisen keskustasta alueelle. Radan kaartuessa ympäri, sen keskialueesta tehdään siirtokukkula, jonka laella keskellä sijaitsee näköalaravintola Puikko. </p>\n<p>Suunnitelmassa poistuu paljon parkkipaikkoja. Niitä sijoitetaan osittain maan alle parkkihalleihin. Yksi parkkipaikoista sijaitsee ostoskeskus Ankkurin alla ja toinen alueen itäosassa, uusien asuinrakennusten alla. </p>\n<p>Uudet asuinkerrostalot on suunniteltu myös mukailemaan paikan luonnetta. Kerrostalot ovat harjakattoisia ja kattoparvekkeilla varustettuja. SPA -hotelli on osittain uudisrakennelmaa, jossa sijaitsee itse kylpyläosasto. Uudisosa on yhteydessä lasikäytävällä vanhaan osaan, joka kunnostetaan näyttämään ulkopäin samalta kuin alun perin, mutta sisälle luodaan uusi moderni pääaula ja huoneistoja. Paljukylä toimii SPA -hotellin yhteydessä. </p>\n<p>Ratkaisu antaa veneilijöille mahdollisuuden asustella luksusmökeissä ja käyttää samalla myös kylpylän palveluita. </p>\n<p>Ostoskeskus Ankkuri palvelee nimensä mukaisesti pääasiassa veneileviä asiakkaita, luoden paikalle ympärivuorokautista toimintaa. Ostoskeskus täyttää myös hyvin paikallisten asukkaiden tarpeet. Ostoskeskus on sijoitettu osin vanhan säilytettävän rakennuksen sisälle. Rakennuksen ulkopinnat kunnostetaan alkuperäisen julkisivusuunnitelman mukaisesti. Ostoskeskuksen yhteydessä on myös hotelli ja pienkerrostalo. </p>",
